Friday Oh Friendly Friday!

I'm OFF this weekend---- yay amen and say hallelujah!!! I'm also lamenting the fact that there is not a road trip to be found (sadly) and that the weather will be either stormy (again) or hotter than a monkey's butt.

A couple of recent Chicago road trip photos to make me feel better----

Deep dish pie from the Silo..................... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

The Tiffany Man outside the store on Michigan Avenue, wearing a Blackhawks jersey! :) (Yay on those Hawks!!!)

Hope your weekend is nothing short of spectacular!

Honeymoon Over?

Man, I feel like the honeymoon is over on a couple of counts. First, the honeymoon is long over and knitting is stone cold! Especially with Damson which is now DAMNson. (Insert frown here). Frogged to the beginning and re-knit after an incident involving a naughty puppy and a vacuum cleaner. I will not speak further of it. But, in a typically stubborn show of "harumph" DAMNson is back to row 50 so we're perking along, it looks great and I only lost a little bit of yarn in the process. Reading about the experience of other knitters who have taken on this shawl, yardage seems an issue. I only hope that I don't have to order more yarn for the bitter end.

The honeymoon is also over with my phone. I love my phone and have succumbed to the easy joy of googling on the run or carrying life in the palm of my hand. I have moved past the fact that such wizardry of phone-ness is an enormous time suck. Time of which I have little to spare these days. Accountability can also be a factor; if one has such a phone does it remove any excuses such as getting lost, not checking email, weather delays or even what the (hee) special value of the day is??? I may have to revert back to the dog ate my homework?

I suffered a bit of a crash and burn yesterday. Too much of Too Much and it sent me into a downward spiral. Today I'm feeling better and need to get caught up with life, perhaps I'll turn my phone OFF?

And yes, there was a bride last Saturday, a photo with the sticks was just not a happening thing, so it goes.

Blogoversary Time---- what, again?

I can't believe I've been doing this since June 3, 2007, or that this statement joins the frequently uttered lament of where has the time gone.

Where HAS it gone, btw??????

Thanks for allowing me to share lots of brides, much knitting (good, bad and indifferent) and other creative pursuits---- along with some mindless blathering. It's been pretty great!

I send wishes that life is wonderful on your side of the screen, and Happy Blogoversary to the Knitting Contessa.

Post Holiday Doldrums

I admit that I'm sunk in the doldrums. The weather has been hot as blazes with humidity to match and not much has happened on the creative front.

The weekend was spent not with a bride but in an all too brief escape to Chicago.

On we plod. Hope your kickoff to the Summer Season was good!

Garden of Good and EVIL

Okay, there was no evil in the garden---- only good. Knit night with the ladies was at Silvana's charming home last night. She'd had a party last weekend and had food (and beer) leftover. Did I mention cake? And the garden? It was charming, and really more than wonderful.

I knit a total of two rows, cussed too much after family life issues and swore I'd stay home and keep the drama out of the mix.

There are photos............ really. Unfortunately I took them with my new phone (which I love) and can't figure out for the life of me how to get them out. I'm generally not so tech stupid. This time I am.

Knitting-- not much.
Working-- too much.
Crabby? Youbetcha!

I wish I were wandering the streets of Santa Fe (like Francis will be doing tomorrow) and eating a big bowl of green chili stew.

New Phone Love

Who knew that getting a new phone was so fabulous? I had no idea! Of course my previous phones have been for ringing and texting (and ignoring). When the last phone rolled over and died, the replacement is the most fabulous thing ever! Touch screen, qwerty keyboard (a must for me) and a really fab blue cover! A "Moment"........... love it! I can tweet and facebook, text and photograph, troll the web and even yelp. I feel kind of like a kid about the whole thing, I mean who knew?

On the practical front I'm putting together a color board with likely candidates for the new digs, coming up the middle of July. Even with a recent walk through and photos of the house I have NO idea past the knowledge that the present colors pretty much have to go! I'm currently loving the colorways inspired by "Frolic", Sandy Gervais and the muted palette from Fresh Figs, especially the upcoming Tiffany blue from the not yet released Breakfast at Tiffany's collection. My fear is that I won't have any idea what I want where until I'm fully in. With a couple of weeks as an empty box freebie I hate to waste the time that I could be so much more easily painting.

Knitting? Not much- although my knit time of late has been pretty much singularly devoted to Damson. Maybe another 10 rows until the edging gets underway.

Crafting? So much to do, to try to make. And no time to do much besides look at the pile(s) sitting here and there.
